I never believed in the ideologies of either side, but that ambivalence led directly to a great many problems I’ve found quite simply because these days…
If you refuse to take a side, you are deemed a radical for one side against the other.
No one seems willing to hear anyone else anymore.
I certainly have my own convictions, but I never felt the need, want or desire to ever grandstand for the ‘cause’…never once.
I will absolutely speak my mind, but I REFUSE to turn against those who have a different view.
It’s become so discouraging to have to watch helplessly as friends – and even family – turn away and block and break ties with those they know and love for no other reason than they have the audacity to disagree with the ‘popular’ vibe.
And so, tragically, Neutrality has now become Fatality.
This kind of persecution is founded in the fundamental misunderstanding of a neutral position and stance. The past several years have proven to me – beyond any shadow of any doubt – that the radicalized mind knows no alternative. Worse, it doesn’t hold the capacity to pry itself open to any alternative.
Sadly, there is ZERO consideration, respect or understanding for a mind that will not choose a side simply for the sake of ‘taking a side’…especially when that mind is forever willing to explore and listen and discuss all possibilities, views and options.
I hold my own opinions and views.
Some are here and some are there, but neither side holds them all.
Over time, one or the other may change my mind.
But as it stands, I continue to hold my own opinions and views.
So does that mean that I am a radical and a conspiracy theorist and a bigot and a racist?
Not for a milli-second.
My own opinions and views should be gage enough of the value of my character and being.
But no, immediate and forceful vilification is considered the one-and-only appropriate response to such a “radical” approach.
After all, ‘who wants someone around who refuses to step in line’?...‘Who wants someone around that refuses to accept what they’re told – even if it is in direct conflict with what they truly believe?’
And so, they’ve added to the formula.
Neutrality = Fatality, thus Different = Wrong.
Everyone that disagrees must be wrong because they are different.
THAT has become a most convenient rationalization of a week-minded sheep.
It’s funny, I believed that the red-witch hunts of the McCarthy era were now nothing more than a bitter footnote in the history books…a soured memory of an archaic, medieval way of thinking and persecuting others.
I was wrong.
This ideology and its blind, mindless disciples are not only alive and well, they’ve begun an exponential expansion quite far beyond any rational realm. It’s hard to imagine the world as it was back then, but it’s pure, unadulterated insanity to think of its existence now, in this day and age.
Free thought and the acceptance of just the mere concept of a new and different idea is once again – and most likely still is – deemed to be an act of defiance, sometimes high-treason and outright disregard for the ‘rest of the world’. Well, the ‘rest of the world’ as the simplest of minds want it to be.
Tragically sad.
So misguided.
So misleading.
So self-opportunistic.
So tragically sad.
Free thought only serves to expand our minds, our lives, the world around us and it reaches out into the universe. That’s all.
The People will NEVER be hurt by free thought.
But do you know the single, tell-tale sign and symbol of a true radical ideology?
The attempted suppression and vilification of any ideological disagreement.
The one-and-only thing that can EVER hurt The People is the suppression, abuse and weaponization of a free thought. And to be clear, I’m speaking of the blocking and bastardization leveled upon ANY free thought.
But no…the loud and public proclamation of any free thought will NEVER hurt The People.
The People NEED it to survive and NEED it to press forward.
Free thought is as pure as scientific mathematics.
It is not an entity meant to be solely political or even personal – it just is.
It can certainly be used to this end, but that is NOT its sole purpose.
NEW ideas create NEW progress.
The screaming of the same failed diatribe that has been proven thoroughly useless and without any merit or even support does NOT.
Attempting to block even one free thought is tantamount to blocking a million.
That is PRECISLEY why free thought absolutely MUST be not only encouraged at every turn but also voiced and maintained through to its end.
I offer SO many other reasons to criticize and vilify me, so use one of them if you feel the need to attack me, but leave free thought and free speech alone.
You will lose that fight every time.
Attacking free thought and free speech is absolutely nothing more than a feeble, simple-minded attempt to make a person feel superior in their own inferior world. And if their world is ‘inferior’ it is that way due solely to their own devices, no one else’s.
Ideological attacks are really quite pointless in that regard.
They have zero substance.
They have zero meaning.
They have zero bearing on those of us that enjoy a free exchange of ideas. About the only thing they do provide is part amusement and part irritation, but both of those fade away pretty quick to make any difference in the world.
Get over yourself and get a new bag.
